Cron jobs are scheduled tasks that the system runs at predefined times or intervals. Typically, a cron job contains a series of simple tasks that the system runs from a script file. 

The Cron Email section of the interface allows you to enter an email address for the system to send notifications when your cron jobs run. To set an email address, perform the following steps:
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Cron Jobs) from Advanced section.
3 – In the Email text box, enter the email address at which you wish to receive the notifications.
4 – Click Update Email.

To disable email notifications for all cron jobs,
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Cron Jobs) from Advanced section.
3 – remove the email address.

To create a cron job, perform the following steps:
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Cron Jobs) from Advanced section.
3 – Select the interval at which you wish to run the cron job from the appropriate menus, or enter the values in the text boxes.
4 – In the Command text box, enter the command that you wish the system to run.
5 – Click Add New Cron Job.

The Current Cron Jobs table displays your existing cron jobs.

To edit a cron job, perform the following steps:
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Cron Jobs) from Advanced section.
3 – Locate the cron job that you wish to edit and click Edit.
4 – Edit the settings that you wish to change and click Edit Line.

To delete a cron job, perform the following steps:
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Cron Jobs) from Advanced section.
3 – Click Delete next to the cron job that you wish to delete.
4 – Click Delete.

This interface contains tools to help you retrieve network information. For example, you can look up an IP address or trace the route from your computer to the computer that hosts your website.

The Domain Lookup tool executes the host domain command, where domain represents a specific domain. This command resolves an IP address from a specified domain name, and returns general DNS information about the server.

The Trace Route function traces the route that your computer takes to access your website. This function displays how many servers through which your data passes before it reaches your website. This information also includes the amount of time that your computer requires to reach the server.

When a visitor accesses a directory (rather than a page) on your web site, the browser typically displays the directory’s index page. If no index page exists, the browser displays a list of the files in that directory. Use the Indexes interface to define how the server displays a specific directory’s index to a visitor, or to disable index display for a directory.

To configure your directory settings
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Indexes) from Advanced section.
3 – In the Directory Selection window, select one of the following locations in which to begin navigation.
4 – Navigate to the desired folder with the following.
5 – Select one of the following options.
6 – Click Save.

Error pages inform visitors about problems when they attempt to access your site. Each problem has its own status code (for example, 404) and error page.

To customize an error page, perform the following steps:
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Indexes) from Advanced section.
3 – If this account manages more than one domain, select the domain for which you wish to edit an error page from the Managing: menu.
4 – Click the error status code for which you wish to edit its error page.
5 – Enter a message in the text box.
6 – Click Save.

Apache handlers control how your site’s Apache web server software manages certain file types and file extensions. Apache can handle CGI scripts and server-parsed files. The file extensions for these files include .cgi, .pl, .plx, .ppl, .perl, and .shtml.
You can configure Apache to use an existing handler to handle a new file type. To do this, manually add the handler and extension in this interface.

To add an Apache handler, perform the following steps:
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Apache Handlers) from Advanced section.
3 – Enter the handler name in the Handler text box. cPanel includes the following built-in handlers:
4 – Enter the file extension in the Extension(s) text box.
5 – Click Add.

To remove a user-defined handler, perform the following steps:
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Apache Handlers) from Advanced section.
3 – Click Delete under the Remove heading for the appropriate handler in the User Defined Apache Handlers table.
4 – Click Yes.

MIME types relay information to the browser about how to handle file extensions. MIME types can allow visitors’ browsers to handle new technologies as they become available.
To add new MIME types to your web server, define the name, directory, and file extension that correspond to the MIME type.

To add a MIME type, perform the following steps:
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Apache Handlers) from Advanced section.
3 – Enter the name of the file type’s handler in the MIME Type text box.
4 – Enter the file extension in the Extension(s) text box.
5 – Click Add.

To delete a MIME type,
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Apache Handlers) from Advanced section.
3 -click the X icon under the Remove heading,
4 – then click Yes to confirm that you wish to remove the MIME type.

The  ClamAV® Virus Scanner interface scans your cPanel account’s services for malicious software. If the ClamAV® Virus Scanner identifies a potential security threat, the system prompts you to perform the appropriate action.

To begin a new scan of a service on your account, perform the following steps:
1 – Open cPanel (yourdomain/cpanel).
2 – Click on (Virus Scanner) from Preferces section.
3 – Select the service to scan.
• Scan Mail
• Scan Entire Home Directory
• Scan Public FTP Space
• Scan Public Web Space
4 – Click Scan Now.
